IL and Nations_Neighbors
Psalms 79:1 O God, pagan  (heathen - TLB) nations have conquered your land, your special possession. They have defiled your holy Temple and made Jerusalem a heap of ruins. 2 They have left the bodies of your servants as food for the birds of heaven. The flesh of your godly ones has become food for the wild animals. 3 Blood has flowed like water all around Jerusalem; no one is left to bury the dead. 4 We are mocked by our neighbors, an object of scorn and derision to those around us. ...7 For they have devoured your people Israel NLT
End times
"In those days ten men from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, `Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.'" Zechariah 9:23.

IL_Enemies=God's enemies
Psalms 68:...20 Our God is a God who saves! The Sovereign LORD rescues us from death. 21 But God will smash the heads of his enemies, crushing the skulls of those who love their guilty ways. 22 The Lord says, "I will bring my enemies down from Bashan; I will bring them up from the depths of the sea. 23 You, my people, will wash your feet in their blood, and even your dogs will get their share!"
Arabs
Psalms 74:18 See how these enemies scoff at you, LORD. A foolish nation has dishonored your name. NLT
Psalms 76:4 You are glorious and more majestic than the everlasting mountains. 5 The mightiest of our enemies have been plundered. They lie before US [Israel] in the sleep of death. No warrior could lift a hand against US. 6 When you rebuked them, O God of Jacob, their horses and chariots stood still. 7 No wonder you are greatly feared! Who can stand before you when your anger explodes? NLT
Psalms 80:12 But now, why have you broken down our walls so that all who pass may steal our fruit? 13 The boar from the forest devours us, and the wild animals (Arabs) feed on us. NLT
Psalms 80:14 Come back, we beg you, O God Almighty. Look down from heaven and see our plight. Watch over and care for this vine 15 that you yourself have planted, this son you have raised for yourself. 16 For we are chopped up and burned by our enemies. May they perish at the sight of your frown. NLT
Wealth of the nations
Psalms 68:29 The kings of the earth are bringing tribute (taxes) to your Temple in Jerusalem. 30 Rebuke these enemy nations--these wild animals lurking in the reeds, this herd of bulls among the weaker calves. Humble those who demand tribute from us. Scatter the nations that delight in war. 31 Let Egypt come with gifts of precious metals; let Ethiopia bow in submission to God. 32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth, Sing praises to the Lord.
Psalms 72:15 Long live the king! May the gold of Sheba be given to him. NLT

"He remembers His covenant forever, the word He commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant He made with Abraham, the oath He swore with Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant; 'To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit'" (Psalm 105:8-11).

Rebel_Sin_break Covenant
Psalms 78:9 The warriors of Ephraim, though fully armed, turned their backs and fled when the day of battle came. 10 They did not keep God's covenant, and they refused to live by his law. 11 They forgot what he had done--the wonderful miracles he had shown them, 12 the miracles he did for their ancestors in Egypt, on the plain of Zoan. ...17 Yet they kept on with their sin, rebelling against the Most High in the desert. 18 They willfully tested God in their hearts,
19 They even spoke against God himself, saying, "God can't give us food in the desert. NLT
Psalms 78:42 They forgot about his power and how he rescued them from their enemies. NLT
Psalms 78:55 He drove out the nations before them; ...56 Yet though he did all this for them, they continued to test his patience. They rebelled against the Most High and refused to follow his decrees. 57 They turned back and were as faithless as their parents had been. They were as useless as a crooked bow.
Other gods
58 They made God angry by building altars to other gods; they made him jealous with their idols.
God's reaction/Punishment Reject
Psalms 78:59 When God heard them, he was very angry, and he rejected Israel completely. 60 Then he abandoned his dwelling  at Shiloh, the Tabernacle where he had lived among the people. 61 He allowed the Ark of his might to be captured; he surrendered his glory into enemy hands. 62 He gave his people over to be butchered by the sword, because he was so angry with his own people--his special possession. 63 Their young men were killed by fire; their young women died before singing their wedding songs. 64 Their priests were slaughtered, and their widows could not mourn their deaths.   NLT

Psalms 79:8 Oh, do not hold us guilty for our former sins! Let your tenderhearted mercies quickly meet our needs, for we are brought low to the dust. NLT

[Made God angry and he punished them severely - See Rebel. But then God turned around and routed his enemies - probably because they seduced Israel]:

Rejection of Israel (10 Tribes) & choose Judah
Psalms 78:67 But he rejected Joseph's descendants; he did not choose the tribe of Ephraim. (although they would be re-united w Judah in the end).
68 He chose instead the tribe of Judah,  (and - TLB) Mount Zion, which he loved. 69 There he built his towering sanctuary, as solid and enduring as the earth itself. NLT
Psalms 80:4 O LORD God Almighty, how long will you be angry and reject our prayers? 5 You have fed us with sorrow and made us drink tears by the bucketful. 6 You have made us the scorn of neighboring nations. Our enemies treat us as a joke. NLT

Rabbis lack of discernment
Same god in Islam
Demo at the PLO Mission to at the UN, October 05, 2003 : Rabbi Avi Weiss: "And it's not just terror, but radical Islam. As a rabbi, I'm waiting for one Islamic cleric to rise in his mosque and declare, 'this terror is immoral'. My message to my Islamic clerical brethren is, if you are silent, you are complicit, you are an accomplice. We tell the people of Israel, we are with you. And we turn to God and say, 'We want to feel Your presence. We pray that You are listening."
Rabbi Allen Schwartz of Congregation Ohab Zedek told the crowd: "Psalm 120 states, 'I am all for peace, but when I speak, they are for war.'
How many times has Israel asked its neighbors to come to the table to talk? How many victims of terror, grandparents, parents and children must Israel bury? Yet the world speaks in moral relativism. We meet on the eve of Yom Kippur. One translation of 'kippur' is a covering. We must cover - we must meet - this kind of horrific news with even more of our own good deeds, by not giving up hope for a better day."

Seek Mercy to IL
Psalms 78:38 Yet he was merciful and forgave their sins and didn't destroy them all. Many a time he held back his anger and did not unleash his fury! 39 For he remembered that they were merely mortal, gone in a moment like a breath of wind, never to return.
17 Strengthen the man you love, the son of your choice. 18 Then we will never forsake you again. Revive us so we can call on your name once more. NLT

Psalms 78:1 O my people, listen to my teaching. Open your ears to what I am saying, 2 for I will speak to you in a parable. I will teach you hidden lessons from our past-- 3 stories we have heard and know, stories our ancestors handed down to us. 4 We will not hide these truths from our children but will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the LORD. We will tell of his power and the mighty miracles he did. 5 For he issued his decree to Jacob; he gave his law to Israel. He commanded our ancestors to teach them to their children, 6 so the next generation might know them--even the children not yet born--that they in turn might teach their children. 7 So each generation can set its hope anew on God, remembering his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.
